Township of Melancthon Strategic Plan Community Survey

Every four years, the newly elected council, with the help of Township staff and the community, prepares a strategic plan that identifies the vision, mission, values, and priorities and initiatives that will guide the Township’s next four years.

In 2023, Council and senior Township staff began the process by developing a draft strategic plan that identifies 5 priorities:

1.Community Vitality & Recreation

2. Infrastructure

3. Road Safety

4. Environmental

5. Good Governance & Organizational Management

The Township of Melancthon values the input of our residents, businesses, and stakeholders in this process. We encourage you to review the draft strategic plan and provide feedback through the survey which will be open until April 30th, 2024

NEW STRATEGIC PLAN – 2024-2028

Council of the Township of Melancthon is developing a new Strategic Plan for 2024-2028. Please join Council and our Consultant for an Open House to learn more about the Township’s Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Priorities.

At the December 21, 2017 Council meeting, Council adopted the Strategic Plan for the Township of Melancthon.

The Township of Melancthon Strategic Plan

Over the past six months, the Mayor and Members of Council have been working on a Strategic Plan to guide their decisions and prioritize the use of Township resources. Consultation sessions have been held with Council and Members of the Public and a Draft Plan has now been prepared. Council has reviewed this Plan and is now seeking public input on the document. Please review the document and if you have comments, provide them to the Township by 12 noon on October 26^th, 2017.

Comments will be considered by Council at its meeting on November 2^nd, 2017. The meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 157101 Highway 10. At that time, the Plan will be finalized, actions will be prioritized, an implementation strategy established and measures of success put in place. Members of the public are welcome to attend this meeting.

Township’s Strategic Plan to Planscape

The Council of the Township of Melancthon has awarded the Request for Proposal for the development of the Township’s Strategic Plan to Planscape. Over the next few months, the preparation and comprehensive Public Consultation Process will take place and we will deliver the new Strategic Plan in the Fall.
