Notice of Construction in Melancthon Township – Provincial Highway 10 – grading and hot mix paving from 0.20 km North of 3rd Line, Northerly to 0.09 km South of Dufferin Road 17 from June 27, 2022 until July 22, 2022.
Working hours for the duration of the construction will be weekdays 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
During working hours, traffic will be reduced to a single lane and people can expect approximately a 10 minute delay. All lanes will be open outside of the working hours, as well as on June 30th, 2022 and July 1st 2022.

PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE
Project:  Bridge 004-0027 Replacement
Location: Mulmur-Melancthon Townline, Approximately 2.5 km north of Highway 89
Description: Replacement of Bridge 004-0027
Estimated Duration: June 13 through September 30, 2022
Traffic Impact: Road is closed to through traffic.  Please follow posted detour route.

Effective Friday, May 6, 2022 – The reduced load restrictions have been lifted for ALL roads in Melancthon Township.
BRIDGE CLOSURE NOTICE – BRIDGE 11 REHABILITATION 
The Township of Melancthon is rehabilitating Bridge 11 which is located over the Grand River, on 8th Line SW, approximately 3.6 km north of Highway 89. (See map attached to back of the Notice).  The emergency numbers, along 8th Line SW, on either side of bridge are #057358 (north) and #057330 (south).
The Contract has been awarded to Jarlian Construction Inc. and the road closure is proposed to commence on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, and it is anticipated that the project will be completed, and the road reopened before June 7, 2022. Local access will be maintained at all times for residents and businesses from either the North or the South, however through access will not be permitted during construction.
Emergency Services, Student Transportation Services, Waste Collection and Postal Service will all be notified of the road closure. Road closure notification signs will be installed and maintained throughout the project.
Vehicle turnaround locations have been marked on the detour route map attached to the back of the notice.

Reduced Loads Now In Effect
March 1, 2022 – Reduced loads are in effect starting today, until May 15th on all Township of Melancthon roads.  Restrictions may be removed earlier, subject to adequate road and weather conditions.  Reduced load, limits vehicles to 5 tonnes per axle.
February 21, 2022 — The Township’s Significant Weather Event declared on February 19, 2022 has ended.
All roads have reopened in the Township with the exception of the 2nd Line SW between County Road 17 and 260 Sideroad, which remains closed until further notice.

DECLARATION OF SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT

Pursuant to s.16.9 of O.Reg. 239/02 as amended

The Township of Melancthon is declaring a Significant Weather Event in respect to blowing snow and reduced visibility,  starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 and continuing until further notice.

Users of the roads in the Township are advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

The Township will issue a public notice when this Significant Weather Event has ended.
