ROAD CLOSED DUE TO ACCIDENT
September 6, 2023 – 10:30 a.m. – The 2nd Line NE from County Road 9 to the Melancthon-Artemesia Townline is closed, effective immediately, for an accident.

ROAD CLOSURE
September 6, 2023 – Starting at 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. today, 260 Sideroad between the Melancthon-Southgate Townline and the 7th Line SW will be closed for a culvert replacement. There will be no public access during this time.

May 1, 2023 – Please be advised that the half load restrictions for all Township roads have been lifted.
April 21, 2023 – Just a reminder that reduced loads are still in effect until May 15th, on ALL Township Roads, even though some municipalities around us are lifting or have already lifted theirs. The restrictions may be removed earlier than May 15th subject to adequate road and weather conditions.

PLANNED ROAD CLOSURE
Project:  Bridge 004-0027 Replacement
Location: Mulmur-Melancthon Townline, Approximately 2.5 km north of Highway 89
Description: Replacement of Bridge 004-0027
Estimated Duration: June 13 through September 30, 2022
Traffic Impact: Road is closed to through traffic.  Please follow posted detour route.

Effective Friday, May 6, 2022 – The reduced load restrictions have been lifted for ALL roads in Melancthon Township.
Reduced Loads Now In Effect
March 1, 2022 – Reduced loads are in effect starting today, until May 15th on all Township of Melancthon roads.  Restrictions may be removed earlier, subject to adequate road and weather conditions.  Reduced load, limits vehicles to 5 tonnes per axle.
February 21, 2022 — The Township’s Significant Weather Event declared on February 19, 2022 has ended.
All roads have reopened in the Township with the exception of the 2nd Line SW between County Road 17 and 260 Sideroad, which remains closed until further notice.

DECLARATION OF SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT

Pursuant to s.16.9 of O.Reg. 239/02 as amended

The Township of Melancthon is declaring a Significant Weather Event in respect to blowing snow and reduced visibility,  starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 and continuing until further notice.

Users of the roads in the Township are advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

The Township will issue a public notice when this Significant Weather Event has ended.
