If you are unable to get to our office during business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and closed Fridays in August), and would like to apply for a fire permit, please click here to print off an application. Please fill out the required information (exact location, including emergency number, name, address and telephone number) on page 1, sign the application, scan and email it to: firepermits@melancthontownship.ca or fax to 519-925-1110. If you choose to pay by online/telephone banking, your account number is the first 15 digits of your property tax roll number. Please allow 3-4 days for processing as the payment must be received by the Township before the permit will be issued. The cost of the fire permit is $15.00 and is valid for the calendar year. Once the information and payment have been received, Staff will issue the fire permit a number, sign the fire permit and email or fax it back to you. If you are not set up for online/telephone banking and wish to drop off the payment to our office, please use the after-hour drop off slot located at the front of the building.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PERMIT IS NOT VALID UNTIL A PERMIT NUMBER IS ISSUED, IT IS SIGNED BY A TOWNSHIP OF MELANCTHON STAFF AND PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.
ALSO, IF YOU ARE A TENANT OF PROPERTY, YOU MUST PROVIDE WRITTEN CONSENT FROM THE OWNER BEFORE THE PERMIT IS ISSUED.
