The Section Schools were “one room” school houses providing elementary education for the children of Melancthon. Within Melancthon there would be over the years from 1850 onward eighteen Section Schools that were built and provided education to the children of Melancthon. By 1947 the number of Section schools was down to seven and by 1969 they no longer existed.
